    EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena)

Electronic voice phenomena - or EVP - is a mysterious event in which human-sounding voices from an unknown source are heard on recording tape, in radio station noise and other electronic media. Most often, EVPs have been captured on audiotape. The mysterious voices are not heard at the time of recording; it is only when the tape is played back that the voices are heard. Sometimes amplification and noise filtering is required to hear the voices.

    Freaky Videos

These videos is are of ghostly sightings. I watched these at 3 am, and now I'm freaked. Do you think ghosts are real? Watch and find out.

This video is of a supposed poltergeist in an apartment building in Quebec, August 1989.

An apartment building is shaken in a violent manner in Beauport. A local television team caught the violent phenomenon on tape.
What you see here is not a re-enactment but the real phenomenon. The extract comes from Dossier Mystère, a TV series that airs on Canal-D but the video files themselves originate from the Télé-4 news archives in Quebec City.
As you can see, the walls were severely damaged by the force of the impacts. At first glance the scene looks like a cheaply staged hoax so the TV journalists themselves considered the phenomenon with skepticism. But later, policemen told the journalists that they could verify that no one was in the contiguous apartment as the very same thing occurred.
At least two experts worked on the Beauport case and none of them could find any element of fraud. One thought the phenomenon had something to do with water saturation in the soil beneath the house. The other one put forth the hypothesis of a poltergeist centered on the person of a teenage girl who lived in the building during the events.
The events are well documented and mostly renown as a classic case of poltergeist. A detailed day to day log of the events is available on the Internet: Look for "le cas HLM" with Google.

Another weird video, of ghosts caught in the fields of Gettysburg. Look closely.

This video was reportedly shot in Gettysburg and, in addition to some fireflies, seems to show humanoid forms marching in formation on the ground and in the trees. Could they be civil war soldiers too loyal to leave their posts? I don't know if it's real or not, but it is interesting.

    Another Scary Picture

    1191629538834

On August 23rd, 1971, in the small Spanish village of Bélmez, a startling and unusual event began to take place. In the home of Maria Gõmez Pereira an apparition was forming on the kitchen floor. It was a human face.

Beginning August 23, 1971, Maria Gõmez Pereira played host to a series of strange events. An expressionistic, painterly image of a man's face spontaneously appeared on her kitchen floor--which was ripped out six days later and re-laid with cement. One week later, another face appeared in the same spot. Again, the family wanted the image destroyed, but the town mayor intervened and had the offending slab of cement removed and preserved. The property was known to have been a graveyard in the past, so the floor was excavated in hopes of finding whatever was causing the phenomena.

Nine feet down, human remains were discovered and given a proper burial, and a new floor was installed. Two weeks later, another man's face appeared, and two weeks after that, the face of a woman surrounded by 9-15 tiny faces.

By this time, the mysterious goings on had attracted crowds of onlookers. Some of these were able to watch the faces appear before them, but there was never a consensus on their expression or meaning. Occasionally, these images would appear and then disappear within the course of a single day, others would last longer. Recordings were made in the room, and when the tapes were played back, sounds of whispering and wailing were heard on them.

The floor was torn out a number of times, but the faces returned every time it was restored. The images were scrubbed with detergent, but though the eyes widened and the expressions changed, the pictures persisted; over time, the faces seemed to age. Chemists tested samples of the cement, but found no evidence of paints or dyes.

Although the events continued through 1972, there is a dearth of photographic and other hard evidence, scientific explanations.were quickly abandoned.

The debate over whether this was a case of fraud, a haunting, or psychokinetic influence (the faces' expression would sometimes change depending on Maria Gõmez Pereira's mood) has never been resolved.

Can you see the form of the man in the center of the picture? It looks like he is sitting in quiet contemplation. You can clearly see his face and hands. He almost looks sad or in serious thought.

Ever curious as to why people dress up for Halloween? What is Halloween?

Vampire Without a doubt the most recognizable symbol of Halloween is a pumpkin carved into a jack-O-lantern. To understand the origins of how pumpkin carving began and what it really means we must first take a look at the holiday itself. How long has Halloween been around? Have there always been pumpkins carved? Here are some answers!

For most of the general population it is known as Halloween and is a night for dressing up, telling ghost stories, having spooky parties, trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving. What most people don't know is that Halloween is actually based on an ancient Celtic holiday known as Samhain (pronounced "sow wan"), which means "summer's end".

It was the end of the Celtic year, starting at sundown on October 31st and going through to sundown November 1st. It was a night to honor loved ones that had passed on since the veil between their realm and ours is at it's thinnest on that night.

Celebrated for centuries by the Celts of old, Witches and many other nature based religions, it is the most magical night of the year. It is the Witches' New Year, and the Last Harvest. Although the religious significance of it has passed for the general public, Halloween is a "magical" night for all!

On this magical night, glowing jack-O-lanterns, carved from turnips or gourds, were set on porches and in windows to welcome deceased loved ones, but also to act as protection against malevolent spirits. Burning lumps of coal were used inside as a source of light, later to be replaced by candles.

When European settlers, particularly the Irish, arrived in American they found the native pumpkin to be larger, easier to carve and seemed the perfect choice for jack-O-lanterns. Halloween didn't really catch on big in this country until the late 1800's and has been celebrated in so many ways ever since!

Pumpkins are indigenous to the western hemisphere and were completely unknown in Europe before the time of Columbus. In 1584, the French explorer Jacques Cartier reported from the St. Lawrence region that he had found "gros melons", which was translated into English as "ponpions," or pumpkins.  In fact, pumpkins have been grown in America for over 5,000 years. Native Americans called pumpkins "isquotersquash."

Did you know that pumpkins are not a vegetable - they are a fruit! Pumpkins, like gourds, and other varieties of squash are all members of the Cucurbitacae family , which also includes cucumbers, gherkins, and melons.
