2月23日 RepulsedI don't have any children, but I have been around them long enough to have some common sense when it comes to safety and childcare.....the basics. But I am repulsed at the lack of proper childcare parents are not giving their own children. They leave these vulnerable innocents in dangerous situtaions. I was shocked when I read a headline from Calgary about a mother who left her child in the car alone for 'a few seconds' and her baby was killed by suffocation from the power window.
"CALGARY (Sun Media) - The mother of a two-year-old girl killed in a tragic accident said the split-second decision to leave her kids in a running SUV cost her the most precious thing in her life.
Yesterday, the grieving mother, whose two-year-old daughter Sienna Rose died after getting caught in the automatic window of the family's SUV, said she'd give anything to go back in time and do things differently. "I shouldn't have left her in the truck. It would have only put me back a few minutes," a sobbing Lisa Coad told the Sun. It only takes once and your whole life has changed forever and you've lost the most precious thing." For the past two days an infinite list of what-ifs have been running through the minds of Coad and her common-law husband, J.R. But hindsight is 20/20," she said, weeping. Coad said in the past, when she brought her kids into her southwest office, it was always a long process because they wanted to visit everyone. On Tuesday, she was running late and had to get her six-year-old son Justice to school at the other end of the city. So she left them in the SUV with the engine running and the decision has haunted her ever since. Justice, who had been up late the night before, fell asleep while Sienna Rose somehow freed herself from her car seat and managed to open the automatic window. The window then came up, trapping her. A witness, who heard the child's cries, noticed she was trapped and freed her. He laid her on the seat, ran into the building to call 911 and yelled for a female co-worker to stay with the injured child. For some reason, the co-worker also ran back into the building, even passing Coad on the stairs. When Coad returned to the SUV she thought Sienna Rose was just sleeping so she buckled her into the car seat and drove to Justice's school. After leaving the school, Coad decided to stop at a store to pick up gifts for her daughter, who would have turned two the next day. "I shook her foot to wake her up and I knew something was wrong, her lips were white and I went into a panic," she said. Coad called 911, but despite the best efforts of police, firefighters and EMS, the tot was pronounced dead at hospital, leaving everyone involved devastated. "My son thinks it's his fault because he wasn't awake to take care of his sister," said Coad. "I just told him she got hurt really badly and the doctors tried their best, but she won't be coming home." Coad said Justice, who was very protective of his little sister, doesn't fully understand the loss. "He was questioned by police and after they were done they gave him a huge teddy bear. "He asked them if he could have one for his sister because she would really love it." I sympathize with the family over this loss, but it could have been prevented.....I say again, it could have been prevented and I cannot help but want to smack this woman for her complacency.
Anna Nicole SmithI believe that the media is having a field day over her untimely death. I personally never liked her, but that doesn't mean that I wished for her death, nor am I happy over her passing. She was a very troubled woman. I am actually sad that she was never really given the chance to get clean and sober, especially by this Howard K. Stern fellow, whom I think is a real joke. He's in it for the money. And I also believe that a crime was committed against Smith and her son. I'm leaning towards murder. Smith's mother herself gave an errie preminision a few months back. I cannot help but wonder what really killed her.....it wasn't from a fever. And I really hope they find out what killed her. The common tie between Smith, her son and Stern is Methodone. Stern was providing this drug to both Smith and her son. How? I don't think she was ever in rehab, as Methodone is something that is given to people in rehab for drug addiction to painkillers, and Stern is no rehab nurse. Where the hell was he getting this stuff from? So many questions.....it's sickening. Smith, I believe, is a victim, of herself and others. But now she can be with her son, and her suffering is finished.
Our area is being slammed by a nasty winter storm. Its about time!!! 2月5日 Lots of Snow!
